What is GAINSWave therapy?

GAINSWave therapy is a new type of medical procedure that uses low-intensity supersonic pulse waves to improve sexual function in a sustainable way and provide stronger, harder, longer-lasting erections. It is the only non-invasive procedure that treats the root cause of erectile dysfunction in men.

As a type of extracorporeal shockwave treatment (ESWT), it is very different from the sound waves in ultrasound or infrasonic therapy and uses an FDA-cleared, class 1 medical device approved for improving blood flow and breaking up scar tissue. Medical studies report ESWT to have up to a 76% success rate in treating ED (Ther Adv Urol. 2013 Apr; 5(2): 95-99).

Dr. Aldren first began using ESWT in sports medicine to break up scar tissue, strengthen connective tissue, and restore blood flow to damaged areas that otherwise would not heal. He now uses GAINSWave to heal the male sexual system in similar ways.

Who can benefit from GAINSWave therapy?

GAINSWave can help any man, not only those with ED, to experience stronger erections and more intense orgasms. Men who can benefit include:

  • Men suffering from various degrees of ED, including men who do not respond to Viagra or similar PDE5i drugs. According to the Journal of Urology (May 2016) “treatment is effective even in patients with severe erectile dysfunction who are PDE5i non-responders.”
  • Men whose ED is satisfactorily controlled by pills and shots, but who want to have a more spontaneous sex life, and want to treat any potential side effects from years of doing pills and shots.
  • Men who have noticed some drop-off from their sexual peak, want to prevent ED and get back to a more youthful sex life.
  • Cancer patients and survivors who have ED and other sexual disabilities due to disease or complications of treatment, or who cannot use hormones or drugs for medical reasons.
  • Biohackers with no sexual complaints, who are interested in performance enhancement and body optimization.
  • Natural health advocates who want to regain or maintain a healthy and active sex life through safe and natural alternatives to drugs, shots, and surgery.
  • Patients with Peyronie’s disease, a disabling condition where normal sexual relations become painfully difficult or impossible, due to severe scarring and resulting irregular curvature of the penis. In these cases, higher intensity GAINSWave, local anesthesia, PRP and other injections, medications and supplements to help digest scar tissue, and a longer course of treatment will usually be needed to break up scar tissue and open up diseased areas.

Is there anyone who should not use GAINSWave therapy?

GAINSWave has no known side effects as shown by 15 years of use in Europe and a number of clinical research studies. But there are a few situations where caution should be exercised:

  • Patients on blood thinners (anti-coagulant medicines) who have taken too high a dose, or whose levels are too high, can experience bruising afterward. This is not dangerous, and treatment can be fully resumed as soon as levels are normal again.
  • Patients with a weak heart may not be able to handle the strain of suddenly increased or more vigorous sexual activity. Before getting treated they should first strengthen their heart under medical supervision.
  • Patients with active prostate cancer or other cancer in the treatment area should generally not be treated, as the effects are unknown.  In some cases, treatment to some of the target zones can be considered if the urologist or oncologist approves.

How does GAINSWave therapy work?

Using a small handheld device attached to the acoustic pulse wave generator, Dr. Aldren or his assistant applies several series of low-intensity sound wave treatments to your penis and surrounding areas for about 20 minutes. As soon as the anesthetic cream wears off, you are free to engage in sexual relations.

The acoustic waves in GAINSWave perform several important functions for your sexual well-being:

  • They break up deposits of micro-plaque in blood vessels and open up blood flow to the penis.
  • They break up plaque and scar formations in your penis especially if you suffer from Peyronie’s disease.
  • They stimulate the release of your body’s natural growth factors, promoting the growth of new blood vessels to carry even more blood through the penis.
  • They activate dormant stem cells in the penile tissue, stimulating long-term recovery and cell growth as part of penile rehabilitation.

The end result of these actions is greater blood flow to your penis, greater sensitivity, and better sexual performance, which will continue to improve for the next 10-12 weeks.

What are the benefits of GAINSWave therapy?

Unlike other types of erectile dysfunction treatment options, GAINSWave is non-invasive and involves no medication. It is the only non-invasive procedure that directly treats the root cause of ED.

This therapy can also provide benefits not found with older ED treatments, including increased sensation in the penis, more spontaneous erections, a return of morning and nighttime erections, and better orgasms. It is one of the few treatments that can help improve the symptoms of Peyronie’s disease.

When will I see results from GAINSWave therapy?

For best results, GAINSWave therapy typically requires between 6-12 treatments, each lasting about 15-20 minutes. Most patients report noticeable improvements near the end of their treatment cycle, and depending on your age you can expect these results to usually last up to 2 or so years before additional treatment might be necessary. Some patients will need more than the standard number of treatments to reach their goal.

Dr. Aldren provides preventive and maintenance GAINSWave treatments if you want to stay in top condition and don’t want to worry about losing the benefits of the therapy over time.
